Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated, at least 8-10 glasses (2-3 liters) everyday.
Include at least 3-4 servings of fruits daily especially the juicy ones like watermelon, apple, orange, papaya, amla, lemon, tomatoes, pomegranates, berries, kiwifruit etc. Fruits are good source of antioxidants, minerals, Phytochemicals and vitamins. Vitamin C is considered beneficial for prevention of skin ageing.
Consume more of green vegetables like spinach, radish and turnip greens, beans, gourds, broccoli, cucumber, onion, beetroot, carrots, bell peppers, green chilies etc.
Include different kind of oils that are rich in MUFA & PUFA and contains vitamin A & E as in olive oil, coconut oil, mustard oil, cannola oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil etc. Try to keep changing them alternatively; don't just stick to one kind of oil. And limit your intake to just three to four tea spoons of oil in a day.
Include nuts and seeds like almond, walnuts, flex seeds, gingelly seeds, melon seeds as these are rich in VITAMIN E, CALCIUM, ZINC, IRON and other nutrients.
Include fish in your diet. Omega 3 fatty acids found in fish are particularly beneficial for skin.
Include more of whole grain pulses, cereals and legumes like beans, bengal gram, green gram, lentils whole wheat, oats etc. You can make sprouts as sprouts are rich in folic acid, vitamin C, zinc etc.
Eat at least two to three servings of calcium rich foods (milk, curd, cottage cheese, tofu etc). Remember vitamin D helps in absorption of calcium, if you are not getting enough vitamin D then the calcium you have consumed is just a waste, so include vitamin D rich foods as well. The main source of vitamin D is sunlight. Try to spend 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in afternoon but strictly avoid the sun exposure between 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Avoid excess intake of sugar especially the refined sugars instead use natural sweeteners like jaggery, dried dates, black raisins etc.
Avoid excess consumption of salt (white) too because it absorbs water from our body and causes problems like hypertension and damage kidneys, instead use black salt, rock salt or other items like roasted cumin seeds powder, black pepper powder, mint, coriander, lemon juice etc to enhance the taste of your recipe.
Drink more of healthy fluids like tender coconut water, buttermilk, fresh fruit juices, soups, broth, pulse water, cereal water, lemonade, vegetable juices etc.
Avoid excess consumption coffee and tea; instead prefer green tea, herbal tea, lemon tea.
Avoid consuming packaged and processed foods as they are high in preservatives and other chemicals and harm.
Avoid refined foods like noodles, pastas, pizzas, white bread, pastries, cakes etc.
Give up smoking as it is most the easiest ways that makes you look older and shorten your life span.
Avoid regular consumption of alcohol too instead prefer red wine as it is considered good because it contains anti ageing content i.e. Resveratrol.
Avoid over eating and eating in bulk instead take small servings that too at regular intervals of two to three hours.
Do brisk walk for at least 30-40 minutes or yoga or cardio or any other workout daily as it increases the stamina of your body, keeps you in shape, gives you toned muscles and also helps in excretion of toxins in form of sweating and makes your skin glow.
Avoid putting on foundations, face powders and other makeup, as it prevents your skin from breathing.
Take proper sleep of at least 7-8 hours daily.
Always wear good quality sunscreen while going out in the sun as UV radiations from sun directly damages your skin and promotes ageing.
Do some meditation, listen your favorite music, spend quality time with your family and friends to relieve stress.
Do CLEANSING TONING MOISTURIZING, always wear good quality moisturizers that contain vitamin E and give your body oil massage at least once in a week (coconut, olive, almond oils are considered good for massage).
Wash your face at least 2-3 times a day.
To remove tanning from your skin you can apply Aloe Vera gel, tomato juice, lemon juice, fruit pulp etc.
In summers, use cooling packs made of Neem leaves, Sandalwood, Rose leaves, Rose Water, Aloe Vera Gel etc.
You can also spray some rose water for instant freshness.
